Kristi brings over 12 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), to Stepping Stone Advocacy Services. An Occupational Therapist is skilled in assessing, modifying, and adapting patient environments to meet their needs. All of these skills include communication, navigation, coordination, investigation, evaluation and education. These are the cornerstone of Patient Advocacy at Stepping Stone Advocacy Services.
She began her Occupational Career as a Travel OT. She had the opportunity to hone her skills in a variety of settings. These settings include home health, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, acute care, and acute rehabilitation facilities. These combined experiences highlight her expertise within the Pillars of the Healthcare System. This expertise is very valuable to patients and their families when they are facing transitions of care, following an injury or illness. This can be a time of tremendous stress and uncertainty and she can help walk you through, and assist you, during this time.
She also conducts AOTA standard home safety assessments for Stepping Stone Advocacy. As an OT Patient Advocate, she assists us with providing extra support for our clients, as they transition to home.
Kristi brings personal experience to her role as a Patient Advocate, as well. She functions as a Patient Advocate for her grandmother. She has provided clinical guidance through the Rehabilitation System, and has recommended home modifications, for accessibility. She provides ongoing support to her grandmother and her family.
When Kristi is not working, she enjoys being at home with her husband Pat, her two shelties, and her daughter. She enjoys drinking coffee and traveling.
